Meet The Pattyman – Where Jamaica Meets Wales

Hi, I’m Leroy – founder of The Pattyman. The Pattyman is based in Cardiff and launched from home during lockdown in 2021 in honour of my late parents, my father from the original Windrush generation and my mother from the Welsh Valleys. The Pattyman brings together Jamaican-inspired flavours and Welsh influence to create authentic; artisan products rooted in heritage. Using old traditional recipes, The Pattyman produces award-winning Red Pepper Jelly, Sauces, Relish, Jerk Marinade, Rum Punch and of course, Jamaican Patties. Our sauces are designed to be versatile and full of flavour, whether used in home cooking or to add something extra to everyday dishes. At its heart, The Pattyman is about well-made, flavourful products, created with care with attention to detail. The brand is a celebration of cynefin, a shared sense of belonging that reflects both Welsh and Jamaican heritage and the belief that great food brings people together. The thing I enjoy most about what I do, is being able to share my culinary heritage and flavours through the products I produce. I am proud of the fact that I have followed my dreams of sharing the experience of authentic Welsh/Jamaican flavours to the wider community, and furthermore, make my father proud.
