Against the Grain

My partner, Chris, was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2018 – a condition where gluten-containing foods cause significant damage to the intestine causing illness. Despite a medical knowledge of the condition, we had little personal experience of the condition and soon realised how difficult it can be to access good food when out and about. Fast forward to 2022, we were in a position to open our doors in Whitchurch where we make great cakes for all, with the absolute safety of a totally gluten-free environment. We believe that gluten-free food doesn't have to be boring, and we want to challenge gluten-eaters to spot the difference. We know not everyone can get to us so we thought we'd head to market in hopes that it more flexible for our customers. A personal favourite of mine are the Friands. Light, fluffy and full of flavour. Big in Australia and New Zealand apparently.
