Autumn Produce: What's in Season at our Markets

Autumn is the most abundant season in the harvest calendar - which means plenty of local produce to choose from at this time of year.

At our markets, you can look out for the freshest artichokes, beetroot, broccoli, butternut squash, carrots, celery, celeriac, the last of the summer courgettes and fennel, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, parsnips, the last of the peas and peppers, potatoes, shallots, sweetcorn, swedes and turnips.

It’s currently peak season for apples, bilberries, elderberries, figs, almonds, chestnuts, chives, cob nuts, hazelnuts, parsley, rosemary, sage, sorrel, thyme, walnuts and a smörgåsbord of fungi.

And you can also keep an eye out for seasonal duck, goose, lamb, rabbit, and venison from our meat and poultry traders.

Join us for an autumn fire cookery demo

11AM - 29th october

Join us at Riverside on Sunday 29th October when Lucas from Lahmacun will be demonstrating some live fire cookery techniques - great inspiration to get us all cooking outside during bonfire season!

Using some of the best, local and seasonal Welsh produce (from the market traders at Riverside), the demo is free to attend - just come along; this is your chance to sample some truly seasonal farm to fork food.

Hope to see you there!
