Food co-op

In 2006, RCMA helped establish a food co-op in the Riverside area. As well as providing low cost fresh produce, the Coop helps create strong social links between the diverse communities of Riverside.

RCMA has received funding from the Assembly to prepare a business plan for the RCMA Market Garden which will be set up on 5 acres of land near Cardiff with the aim of contributing to the supply of locally grown organic produce

Food co-op news

The Riverside Community Food Coop now sells around 75 bags a week of fresh produce to local residents for £2 per bag. Currently the produce comes from a wholesaler, but the longer term plan is to source as much of it locally as possible.

The market is run by RCMA Social Enterprise Ltd, a not-for-profit company, no. 4873953
